When two devices edit at once

How the app keeps your iPhone, iPad and Mac from saving over each other, and what each question means

LS-7ListingsAll sections ↓

Your showcase can be open on your iPhone, your iPad and your Mac at once, and on a client's or a helper's device that has its key. Nobody saves over a change they haven't seen.

Site changes add up

Changes to the site itself just work. Contact details changed on one device and the theme on another are both kept, without a question. The same goes for pages, the header photo, the layout, fonts and themes: your change is put on top of whatever the other device saved.

A listing changed elsewhere

If you publish a listing that another device changed while you had it open, the form stays open with everything you typed and asks: Changed on another device while you were editing, with when it was saved there and its name.

  • Keep Mine publishes yours over theirs.
  • Use Theirs puts their version in the form and drops your changes.
  • Keep Editing closes the question. Your next Publish saves over their version without asking again, unless it changes once more.

A listing deleted elsewhere

Deleted on another device. Put It Back publishes it again with what you have in the form; Discard lets it go.

Deleting a listing changed elsewhere

Changed on another device. Saved there since you opened it. Delete anyway? Choose Delete Anyway or Cancel.

Marking from the listings page

Marking a listing Sold from the listings page's menu, when another device has changed it, simply applies Sold to their version. Their change is kept.

The listing schema

The listing schema is never mixed. If it was changed on another device, your change is not saved, and the app says The listing schema was changed on another device. Here's what it is now. Make your change again on the schema as it is now.

Keeping the list fresh

Coming back to the app after a minute or more refreshes it by itself. With a keyboard, press ⌘R. A form you have open keeps its own copy, so a refresh never changes what you are typing.

The same manual ships inside the app. This section as Markdown
