Site details and contact

Your site's name and subtitle, the phone at the top, the contact details visitors use, the About text and the footer

ST-1Your siteAll sections ↓

Site details is what your site says about itself: its name at the top of every page, how to reach you, a few words about you, and the line at the bottom.

Open Site in the list (the sidebar on the iPad and Mac), the Details tab.

Top of every page

  • Name: the showcase's name, at the top left of every page. It can't be empty.
  • Subtitle: a short line under the name, such as Used cars since 1998.

Contact

  • Phone, with Show the phone at the top of every page: the number sits at the top right of every page, and a tap calls it.
  • Text messages: the number visitors can text.
  • Email.
  • Address: on the Contact page it opens in Maps.
  • Hours.

Every one is optional. Under each listing, the site shows Call, Text and Email buttons for the ones you fill in. The Contact tab appears once Site details has a phone, a text number, an email, an address or hours. With none, there is no Contact page.

About

A few words about you or your business, shown at the bottom of the home page, under the listings, headed About and your name. It can use the same formatting as a description. See Details, summary and description (LS-4).

Bottom of every page

The Footer. Leave empty to show your name, address and phone number. Bold, italics and links work here.

Publishing

The check mark that appears in the card's header once something changed (or ⌘S) publishes what you changed, and only that. The ✕ beside it discards your changes, asking first, and so does leaving the tab or closing the card (its window, ⌘W, Back on the iPhone). The check mark is there only once something is different, so a card left open never puts back an older copy. If another device changed other parts of the site meanwhile, both are kept. See When two devices edit at once (LS-7).

Nothing here is ever a form: visitors reach you through these links and numbers, and the site keeps nothing they do.
