What Publish sends, seeing a listing on the web, taking one off the site for now, and deleting it for good
Nothing you change in a listing reaches the site until you publish it. Once you do, the site shows the change straight away.
Publishing
A listing opens as it reads; Edit (the pencil) in its header turns it into the form. The check mark, in the accent color, appears in the header once something changed: it publishes the listing (or ⌘S with a keyboard), and the card goes back to reading. The ✕ beside it leaves without publishing, asking Discard your changes? if you changed anything.
While a form is open, that ✕ is the card's only one: the card's own close steps aside. Every other way out of the card asks the same question when something changed: closing it beside another card, closing its window or pressing ⌘W on the Mac, and Back or swiping back on the iPhone. Discard lets your changes go and closes the card; Keep Editing leaves everything as it was. With nothing changed, the card simply closes.
New photos and video go up first, then the listing. If publishing doesn't go through, everything you typed is still there, and the reason shows in the card. Try again when you're back online.
Seeing it on the web
- The globe in the listing's header opens it on your site. On the iPhone and iPad, the share button beside it shares the listing's link.
- On the listings page, touch and hold a listing (right-click on the Mac) for Open on the Web and Copy Link, and on the iPhone and iPad Share Link….
Taking it off the site for now
Set its status to Hidden (or touch and hold it on the listings page, or right-click it on the Mac, and choose Hide). The listing comes off the site, its page stops answering, and everything stays in the app under the Hidden tab. Set it back to any other status to put it up again. This is the right choice for something sold that you may want to show again, or something not ready yet.
Deleting it for good
Delete Listing… at the bottom of the listing's form, then Delete Listing.
It comes off the site for good. It can't be undone. If the listing was changed on another device since you opened it, the app asks Delete anyway? first. See When two devices edit at once (LS-7).
A new listing that was never published has nothing to delete: the ✕ in its header discards it.
The same manual ships inside the app. This section as Markdown
