Adding the pages that become your site's tabs, writing them, putting photos on them, and ordering or deleting them
Each page is a tab on your site, beside the list of your listings: About, How to buy, Consignment, Press. A page is a title, some words, and photos if you want them.
The tabs, in order
- The first tab is always your listings. Its name comes from your schema (Inventory, or Work for art); change it with Tab name in Inventory Settings (Edit, the pencil, on the listings page). See Cards and Gallery layouts (ST-4).
- Your pages follow, in the order you set.
- Contact is always last, built from Site details. It appears only once you have contact details. See Site details and contact (ST-1).
A site with only one tab shows no tabs at all.
Adding and writing a page
Tap or click New Page, after your pages in the list (the sidebar on the iPad and Mac). On the Mac, File → New Page (⌥⌘N) does the same. A blank page form opens.
Each page has its own row and card. It opens as it reads, with the globe (open it on your site) and Edit (the pencil) in its header; Edit turns it into the form. On the iPhone, the site's other pages are tabs under the page's header, to hop between them.
Give it a Tab title, write what the page says, and publish with the check mark that appears in the header once something changed (or ⌘S). The ✕ beside it leaves the form, asking Discard your changes? if you typed anything. A new page's ✕ discards it. Closing the card any other way (its window, ⌘W, Back or swiping back on the iPhone) asks the same question first. Its address on the site is made from the title: Our Story becomes /p/our-story. The words take the same formatting as a description. See Details, summary and description (LS-4).
Photos on a page
Add up to 40 photos to a page: Take a Photo… (iPhone and iPad), Add from Files…, Add from Photos…, or a drag from the Finder, Photos or another app (photos only: a page has no video). They are sent as you pick them, and the page shows them after the words, each whole, as it was taken. Click one (tap it on the iPhone and iPad), on the page or in its form, to see the page's photos full size and move through them; see Photos and video (LS-2). A page with photos and no words is a photo page, such as a gallery of the shop.
Drag a photo onto another to move it there. Or touch and hold it (right-click on the Mac) for Move to the Front, Move Earlier, Move Later or Remove. Select… removes several at once: tap or click the ones to remove, then Remove. Then publish the page.
Ordering and deleting pages
Touch and hold a page's row (right-click on the Mac) for Arrange Pages…: drag the handles to change the order, Delete to take a page off (Undo puts it back), then Save, which writes it all at once. Cancel leaves everything as it was. Delete Page… in the same menu deletes one page. The listings page always stays first.
Deleting asks first: Its tab and its words come off the site.
The same manual ships inside the app. This section as Markdown
