In the Gallery layout, your site can show its work the way a gallery does: every piece hung at its real size on a long wall, so a visitor can judge how big it is. Choose whether the site opens on the grid or the wall in Layout. See Cards and Gallery layouts (ST-4).

## What the wall shows

- **The wall** is 98 inches high, with a floor, a light above each piece and a bench in each room for scale. Its color follows your theme.
- **Each piece** hangs at its size from its Dimensions field, or from the Artwork schema's Size, at museum height; books stand on a ledge. A piece with no size hangs at the size Layout says, labeled *size not given*.
- **Each label** says only what is known: the title, the medium, the size, *Sold* when it is sold, and *View details* for its page.
- **Rooms** are your categories. When the schema has a Category pick-list, each category is a room with its name on the wall, and the room buttons above jump between them.
- **Frames** are the Frame option in Layout: wood, walnut, black, white or none.

## What visitors do

- **Walk** along the wall with the arrows, the arrow keys, a sideways swipe on a trackpad, or a finger. On a phone, turning it sideways gives the wall the whole screen.
- **Tap a piece** to walk up to it: the wall grows around it until it fills the view. The arrows then step to the next piece. Tap again, or press Esc, to step back.
- **Full screen** (the button beside *Grid* and *Wall*) shows nothing but the wall.
- **Grid** and **Wall** switch between the two views.

On a piece's own page there is a **Photo** and **Wall** switch too: the piece alone on the wall, under its light, with the bench in front for scale.

## Getting sizes right

The wall is only as true as your sizes. Give every piece a Dimensions field value, and check the warning when its proportions don't match its photo. See Dimensions and View on your wall (LS-8).
