Your site can live at a domain you already own, such as *yourbusiness.com*. Your email stays where it is, and your showcaser.app address keeps working, sending people on to your domain.

Open **Site** in the list (the sidebar on the iPad and Mac), the **Address** tab, under **Your own domain**.

## Your address

The **Address** tab shows your address as a link: tap or click it to open your site. **Change…** beside it opens a field for a new address; nothing happens on Return. The check mark in the card's header changes it, after a confirmation: the old address stops answering, and links people saved to it break.

## Connecting

Type your domain, such as *yourbusiness.com* or *shop.yourbusiness.com*, and publish with the check mark in the card's header. The screen then shows exactly what to change where your domain is managed, named for your provider when it can tell (*At GoDaddy*). Each value to type has a **Copy** button.

- **A domain on Cloudflare:** add a CNAME record named **@**, and another named **www**, pointing to the value shown (for a subdomain, one record with its own name). Turn the proxy off (gray cloud).
- **A domain elsewhere:** edit the **www** record to a CNAME with the value shown, then forward the bare domain to *https://www.yourbusiness.com*, as a permanent (301) forward with no masking. If a GoDaddy website is attached to the domain, disconnect it first.
- **A subdomain** such as *shop.yourbusiness.com*: add one CNAME record with that name.

Every time: *Leave the email (MX) records alone.*

## Watching it connect

**Status** (a chip and one line under your domain: *Not connected*, *Waiting*, *Checking*, *Securing*, *Connected* or *Failed*, with why) lists each address with where it is: *Waiting for the record*, *Still points at…* (the old place), *Pointed here — securing it (a few minutes)*, then *Connected*. It usually takes a few minutes after you change the records. The screen checks by itself every 15 seconds while it is open.

Once connected, *Your site is at yourbusiness.com. Your showcaser.app address sends people there.*

## Disconnecting

**Disconnect**, the red row at the bottom, asks first. *Your site goes back to its showcaser.app address. Change the records at your provider back whenever you like.*
