The Mac can show more than one thing at once. Cards sit side by side in the window, and any card can go out to a window of its own. The iPad puts cards side by side too, with its **Side by Side** row or a keyboard's ⌘, and keeps arrangements the same way; only windows of their own are the Mac's alone. See Finding your way on iPhone and iPad (GS-5).

## Side by side

- **⌘-click** a row in the sidebar to put its card beside the one you're looking at. A plain click shows that card alone.
- **Right-click** a row for **Show Side by Side** (or **Remove from Side by Side**).
- Clicking a listing on the listings page opens its editor beside the grid, so you can work down a list one listing at a time.

Two listings side by side, or a listing beside the Site card, each keep their own place: publishing one never touches the other.

## Closing a card

The **✕** in a card's header closes it. Closing a listing's card never deletes the listing.

## A window of its own

- The **⧉** button in a card's header (*Open in New Window*), or **Open in New Window** in a sidebar row's right-click menu, or **File → Open in New Window**.

The card moves to its own window, which you can place on another screen. What you were typing goes with it. Its sidebar row stays; clicking it brings the window forward.

## Keeping an arrangement

When several cards are side by side, **File → Keep This Arrangement** keeps them as a row at the top of the sidebar. Click the row to put those cards side by side again. Right-click it for **Open in New Window** or **Forget This Arrangement**. Forgetting an arrangement deletes nothing; the cards are only taken off the row.

## What stays where

The cards you had open, and your kept arrangements, are remembered on this Mac between launches.
